Change from Microsoft Vista to Windows XP On a Gateway MX8711 Laptop with SATA Drive
If you want to Change from Microsoft Vista to Windows XP On a Gateway MX8711 Laptop with SATA Drive do the following:
Step One: Go to Intel to download the Intel Matrox 5.5.0.1035 SATA RAID Drivers, Run the utility and Write to Floppy ( http://downloadcenter.intel.com/filter_results.aspx?strTypes=all&ProductID=1809&OSFullName=Windows*+XP+Home+Edition&lang=eng&strOSs=45&submit=Go!)
Step Two: Install A USB Floppy On Your Laptop
Step Three: Install Windows XP pressing F6 to iniate the Raid Install using the Drivers from Intel
Step Four : Utilize the ONLY Mobil Driver
Step FIVE: Format the Drive or leave the Vista Files your choice because you have control over the SATA Drive.

ALL drivers are available at http://www.intel.com/ & http://www.gateway.com/ Today is May 27,2007 and I spent an hour between Intels Automatic Chipset Detection Tool and Gateways website. This was easier than Toshibas or Hewlett Packards where I had to go to each manufacturers site for drivers. This was EASY…..
